Happiness is not something that you can go out and buy or find; it's something that you create with yourself, by yourself. You can't buy it, either, despite the happy feeling you get when that Amazon package arrives in the mail. You have to curate your own happiness, and you can only do that by choosing how you feel, picking your friends, and removing yourself from unnecessary drama.
Drama is all around, and it won't make you any happier to be around it. It will only bring you down and make you stressed, so the best thing to do is to disconnect yourself from it. Stay out of the situations that bring out the worst in people, try not to gossip. It'll do your mind good to keep yourself distanced from situations or people that like to stir up trouble.
Another big thing that I always like to mention in my posts, is gratitude. Gratitude will always be the number one way to make your life a little happier. Finding something to be thankful for and dwelling on it for a few minutes does something to the brain that just makes you feel better. It actually activates tiny little neurotransmitters in the brain that produce dopamine and serotonin, which are both mood enhancing chemicals that make you feel happier.
Start each day with a grateful heart and mind. Find at least one thing that you are thankful for and be prepared to watch your mood flip for the better. Happiness is homemade, and it's up to you to craft it yourself, with whatever tools you can! Whether it's gratitude or something else that brings you happiness, make sure you surround yourself with positive, good things, places, and people. Get out there and craft your own happiness!
