One of the best things that you can do in life is to observe rather than absorb. Take a look at the things that are going on around your life, but don't take them to heart and don't make them a part of your life. When people come to you with drama or gossip, don't hold onto it. Observe it and then let it go. Most gossip won't pertain to you anyway, so why bother holding it all in your mind and heart?
While it might be entertaining to watch the lives and drama of other people, you shouldn't make other people's drama a part of your life. Why watch other people's lives when you have your own to live?
I understand that it can be hard to avoid the drama and gossip of everyday life, but you should always try your best to steer clear of it. It's not like gossiping about other people ever leaves the conversation in a positive tone anyway, so why would you want to feed into the negativity? Rumors are rumors and they'll stay that way until the person in the center of the gossip comes out and says something.
Don't take what other people say about you to heart either. If you hear that someone is starting gossip or rumors about you, simply let them be. You don't need to get caught up in it. People are going to believe what they want to believe, regardless of what you tell them. You could be the kindest, most sincere person in the world, and there will still be someone out there who thinks that you are the absolute worst person they've ever met. Ignore the haters, and don't get caught up in their drama. Observe, then let it go.
