Life is full of ups and downs, and we can't always avoid the downsides of life. Humans are very resilient, able to withstand so much in life, so it's no wonder that we're always experiencing stressful situations. We wouldn't experience bad situations if we weren't able to overcome them, and one of the best ways that you can overcome them is by focusing on the good things in life rather than letting the bad consume your thoughts. Life is what you make of it, not what you think of it; there will always be twists and turns, but it's how you handle them that matters.
When something stressful or frustrating gets thrown your way, take a step back, and take a moment to think about how you should respond. Is it smart to go into panic mode? Is it something that you should be genuinely concerned about? If it is, then what are some steps that you can take right now to make the situation less stressful on you? Asking questions is the best way to get anywhere with anything. Write them out if you have to! You never know the things that you can learn simply by asking yourself questions. You might even calm yourself down in the process.
There are plenty of good things out there in the world, and shifting your focus to them rather than on all of the negative things in life will surely make you a happier, more positive person. It can be easy to become sucked into the rabbit hole of negative vibes and negative people, but you should always try to be a glass half-full kind of person. It never hurts to be a positive person in a negative world. If you ask me, the world could always use more positive people.
You can find the good in any given situation. For example, say you’re running a little late to something, but on the way there you see an accident. Maybe if you weren’t running late, it would have been yourself in the accident instead. Or, maybe your card isn’t working at the gas pump, so, frustrated, you go inside to pay, and on the way inside you find a quarter on the ground. It’s the little things like that that allow you to find the good in a bad situation, even if it’s only a quarter. You can always find the good, no matter what situation you find yourself in, even if you need to look a little harder.
