I want to start this morning’s post off with a question: what is really worth your energy? What are you spending your time on? Your thoughts? Maybe there’s something in your life that you’re putting a lot of thought and energy towards, when you really shouldn’t be. It’s easy to fall into the habit of focusing on things that aren’t truly worth your time. Drama, gossip, negative thoughts, negative people, negative situations—all of these things are energy vampires. They’ll drain you of all of the energy you have, energy that could have been spent on things that matter to you, like your wellbeing, your family, your finances, your hobbies, or your career.
Don’t spend your life wasting your energy on negativity, but instead focus your energy onto the things that are worth it. There is always something out there that’s going to pull your energy. Just take the news as an example. There is always something negative being broadcasted across the waves; do you really want to spend your life around that kind of energy all of the time? There are rarely reports of anything good happening on the big news stations, so go out of your way to find the positive things that are happening in the world. It might take some digging, since the world is so consumed in thinking about the negative, but there are still good things and good people out there in the world, you just have to find them.
There is always something negative going on in life, but you don't, and shouldn't, be constantly dwelling on it and making it a part of your life. Just as there is always something negative, there is always something positive as well! Use your energy wisely, and start focusing on the positives of life, rather than the negatives. Letting negative energy consume your life will only lead to stress, frustration, and depression, so why let the negatives control you? You get to decide where you put your energy, so make sure you’re putting your energy towards all of the good and positive things in life. Your mind will thank you!
