Many times throughout your life, it will feel as though your insecurities are seeping through much more than anything else in your life. It will be hard, and you will struggle against yourself on occasion, but who doesn’t? There are people out there who exude confidence like nobody’s business, but don’t you think that even they also suffer from their own insecurities? Their own flaws and weaknesses? Because they definitely do.
Nobody is perfect, but sometimes the confidence that you see in others is merely a mask to hide their own imperfections and flaws that they think they can’t show to people. The thing is, we’re all flawed! Our insecurities will sometimes speak louder than we will, but only if we let them. You need to let go of the things that you think are “wrong” with you and learn to embrace yourself for who you are, as you are.
It can be hard to stay confident when it feels like you're showing off all of your flaws and weaknesses, but confidence is silent. It’s when you’re simply yourself, unapologetically, that you find true confidence in who you are. Saying weird shit, acting like the strange human being that you are, and laughing at yourself when others laugh at you—that is all confidence at its finest! Someone out there could be watching you and admiring you because you simply choose to be yourself, flaws and all.
True confidence comes from being yourself and accepting yourself as you are, even with all of your problems and flaws. When you can live your life without worrying about what other people think of you or how they might perceive you, then you have achieved true confidence. You might still feel insecure at times, and that’s okay! We all do! You just need to learn to push those thoughts aside and embrace yourself as you are.
Confidence is something that you are born with. You had it as a child; you said the darndest things and acted strangely without a care in the world. Later in life, people start to look at you funny for doing the exact same things. I say, why stop? Continue saying weird stuff! Keep acting weird! Who’s going to stop you? The only person standing in your way of confidence is you! Don’t let other people stop you from merely being you.
