Don't Dwell on the Negative

People are going to do whatever they want, regardless of what you think about it. What matters is that you don’t let other people’s words or actions dictate how the rest of your day is going to pan out. You can’t control how other people act, but you can control how you react to the situation. Don’t let a rude or condescending person ruin your entire day because of one little thing they did or said.

One thing that someone does or says shouldn’t ruin your whole day because, chances are, what they did was mere seconds out of the rest of your day. You have all of these other minutes and hours to go! Why spend your time dwelling on one thing that was barely a minute out of your day? There are so many other things that you could be focusing your attention on!

People will be people, and you can’t always stop them from acting however they’re going to act, but you can choose how you react to them. You don’t need to make one interaction with a stranger the sole focus of your day. Even if the person isn’t a stranger, you shouldn’t dwell on it for the rest of your day. Choose to focus on the positives of the day rather than the negatives.

Your life is so much more than a mere interaction between you and someone else. There is so much more out there for you to experience and enjoy, so why spend your precious time dwelling on a brief interaction that didn’t pan out the way that you wanted it to? Life is more than what negative people do or say, so why make that the focus of your day when there are other positive things you could be looking at?

When you turn your attention to the positives in life, you’ll find yourself having no more time for the negative, and that includes any negative interactions that you have with other people. Negative people should have no place in your life or in your mind. You should be distancing yourself from them and paving your own path with the power of positivity! Don’t let negative people bring you down to their level, but instead lift them up to yours!

Let Go of the Past and Embrace Change

Leave the past in the past! You won’t progress in life if you’re dragging old habits around with you. If you keep trying the same thing over and over again, and you’re not getting the results that you want, maybe it’s time to try something new. T hink of it like diet and exercise. Some diets won't work for you, just like some exercises work better for other people than they will for you. It’s all about figuring out what works, rather than doing the same old thing and becoming disappointed every time you don’t get results. In order to move forward in your life, you need to learn to embrace change. Sometimes, you can get so caught up in sticking with the things that you know, that you wind up afraid of venturing out of your comfort zone. It’s easy to stay with what’s familiar, but you have to learn to let go of familiarity and let yourself embrace the new and the unknown. You need to allow yourself to be open to new ideas and new ways of thinking. You're stuck where you are righ...

Don't Allow Your Fears To Control Your Life

Everyone has something that they are afraid of—you, me, everyone! It’s not shameful to have these fears, but you shouldn’t allow them to take precedent over your life. Things only have power over you because you give them that power. If your fears are starting to hold you back from living the life that you want, then you need to rethink how you view those fears and learn to break past them in order to move on. Your limitations are only limitations because you allow them to be. You are capable of so much more than you give yourself credit for, so don’t allow yourself to be brought down by your fears just because you’re worried that you won’t be able to overcome them. You can do anything that you put your mind to, and if that involves overcoming your fears, then you will be able to do just that! When you choose to avoid your fears and not face them, you open yourself up to even more fear, as well as limitations on your abilities. Facing your fears allows you to break free of the restrict...

Happy Friday! Y'all know what time it is! It's that time of the week where we list the things that we look forward to; it's Fire It Up Friday! There is so much in life to look forward to, so let's help each other out by naming the things that we're excited for. I'll start us off by saying that I'm excited to go to the beach tomorrow.
