Laughter is the Best Medicine

They say that laughter is the best medicine, and I fully believe that’s true. It has a way of making you feel better and happier, despite whatever circumstances you may be facing in your life. If you can find something to laugh about every day, you’ll find yourself in a happier mindset than you were before. Laughter reminds you not to take everything too seriously and to let yourself relax and enjoy your life.

Humor is something that brings people together and makes life a little more enjoyable, especially when you’re spending time with other fun people who share your sense of humor. A laugh, or even a smile, can go a long way. A smile to a passing stranger could make their day, and a quick joke with the cashier could help to lighten their mood. You never know what someone else is going through, so any opportunity you have to share a little kindness could do wonders.

Laughter is a powerful tool for handling conflict as well. If you can make a joke and laugh about a problem you’re having, the frustration and anger will slowly dissipate. Conflict is something that will happen to you sooner or later, so retaining your sense of humor in the middle of it can be very beneficial to your wellbeing throughout the situation.

Smiling and laughing are both contagious; if you smile, the chances are someone else will too. Laughing works the same way. There’s a reason everything seems funnier when you’re laughing with someone else as opposed to laughing by yourself. Learn not to take yourself too seriously and allow yourself to relax and have fun in your life.

Laughter allows you to view life in a playful, more positive tone. Taking time out of your day to find something to laugh at can go a long way toward making you feel happier and more at ease with your life. Find something to laugh at today; I guarantee that you won’t regret it!

Let Go of the Past and Embrace Change

Leave the past in the past! You won’t progress in life if you’re dragging old habits around with you. If you keep trying the same thing over and over again, and you’re not getting the results that you want, maybe it’s time to try something new. T hink of it like diet and exercise. Some diets won't work for you, just like some exercises work better for other people than they will for you. It’s all about figuring out what works, rather than doing the same old thing and becoming disappointed every time you don’t get results. In order to move forward in your life, you need to learn to embrace change. Sometimes, you can get so caught up in sticking with the things that you know, that you wind up afraid of venturing out of your comfort zone. It’s easy to stay with what’s familiar, but you have to learn to let go of familiarity and let yourself embrace the new and the unknown. You need to allow yourself to be open to new ideas and new ways of thinking. You're stuck where you are righ...

Don't Allow Your Fears To Control Your Life

Everyone has something that they are afraid of—you, me, everyone! It’s not shameful to have these fears, but you shouldn’t allow them to take precedent over your life. Things only have power over you because you give them that power. If your fears are starting to hold you back from living the life that you want, then you need to rethink how you view those fears and learn to break past them in order to move on. Your limitations are only limitations because you allow them to be. You are capable of so much more than you give yourself credit for, so don’t allow yourself to be brought down by your fears just because you’re worried that you won’t be able to overcome them. You can do anything that you put your mind to, and if that involves overcoming your fears, then you will be able to do just that! When you choose to avoid your fears and not face them, you open yourself up to even more fear, as well as limitations on your abilities. Facing your fears allows you to break free of the restrict...

Fire It Up Friday

Happy Friday! Y'all know what time it is! It's that time of the week where we list the things that we look forward to; it's Fire It Up Friday! There is so much in life to look forward to, so let's help each other out by naming the things that we're excited for. I'll start us off by saying that I'm excited to go to the beach tomorrow. Beach time is always a good time. I'm gonna have ice cream for lunch and hopefully hit plenty of waves! There's always something to be excited for, even if it's not your next concert or your next beach day; it can be as simple as waking up tomorrow morning to spend a relaxing day at home or being excited for your next cup of coffee.
