Fire It Up Friday

Good morning, y’all, and welcome to the first installment of Fire It Up Friday! My dad and I had this idea that is similar to Sunday Sunshine, but this is where we get all of you to post the things that you look forward to. It doesn’t have to be during the weekend, of course, but anything that you’re looking forward to, just to throw more positive energy out there. You never know who might need a little more light in their lives, and it can be easy to lose hope when you’re stuck in a rut with seemingly nothing to look forward to in your life, which is why we’re firing it up this Friday and posting the things that we’re looking forward to in life!

I’m going to start off this Fire It Up Friday by saying I look forward to getting coffee tomorrow, to spending the day with family, and to the next time I wander down to the beach! Also D&D tonight, with good food and great people!

I also want to take a moment to talk about something that’s rather important—suicide. Suicidal thoughts can be attributed to many factors, but it all boils down to feelings of hopelessness and despair. It might feel like you have nothing left to look forward to, so I’m hoping that Fire It Up Friday can reach people who may be experiencing those thoughts and help them to look to the brighter side of life. There is always something to look forward to, and there is always something to hope for.

988 is the number for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, in case you or someone you know may need it. You can call, text, or start a chat at 988lifeline.org. For veterans, you can also dial 988 then press 1, or you can text 838255, or you can visit veteranscrisisline.net to start a chat.

You are not alone, and there is always hope. 💜🩵

Let Go of the Past and Embrace Change

Leave the past in the past! You won’t progress in life if you’re dragging old habits around with you. If you keep trying the same thing over and over again, and you’re not getting the results that you want, maybe it’s time to try something new. T hink of it like diet and exercise. Some diets won't work for you, just like some exercises work better for other people than they will for you. It’s all about figuring out what works, rather than doing the same old thing and becoming disappointed every time you don’t get results. In order to move forward in your life, you need to learn to embrace change. Sometimes, you can get so caught up in sticking with the things that you know, that you wind up afraid of venturing out of your comfort zone. It’s easy to stay with what’s familiar, but you have to learn to let go of familiarity and let yourself embrace the new and the unknown. You need to allow yourself to be open to new ideas and new ways of thinking. You're stuck where you are righ...

Don't Allow Your Fears To Control Your Life

Everyone has something that they are afraid of—you, me, everyone! It’s not shameful to have these fears, but you shouldn’t allow them to take precedent over your life. Things only have power over you because you give them that power. If your fears are starting to hold you back from living the life that you want, then you need to rethink how you view those fears and learn to break past them in order to move on. Your limitations are only limitations because you allow them to be. You are capable of so much more than you give yourself credit for, so don’t allow yourself to be brought down by your fears just because you’re worried that you won’t be able to overcome them. You can do anything that you put your mind to, and if that involves overcoming your fears, then you will be able to do just that! When you choose to avoid your fears and not face them, you open yourself up to even more fear, as well as limitations on your abilities. Facing your fears allows you to break free of the restrict...

Fire It Up Friday

Happy Friday! Y'all know what time it is! It's that time of the week where we list the things that we look forward to; it's Fire It Up Friday! There is so much in life to look forward to, so let's help each other out by naming the things that we're excited for. I'll start us off by saying that I'm excited to go to the beach tomorrow. Beach time is always a good time. I'm gonna have ice cream for lunch and hopefully hit plenty of waves! Life gives us so much to hope for; it's hard to see the bad when you're so focused on all of the good things headed your way. There's always something to be excited for, even if it's not your next concert or your next beach day; it can be as simple as waking up tomorrow morning to spend a relaxing day at home or being excited for your next cup of coffee. If it makes you happy, it's worth being excited for. Let everyone know what you're looking forward to in the comments. Have a great weekend, everyo...
