Not Everyone Has to Like Who You Are

Imagine if you will, you live in a world where you didn’t care about what other people thought of you, where you were unashamedly yourself, and where it didn’t matter whether or not other people liked you. Guess what? You can live in that world right now! I live in it every single day! It’s quite easy, really; you just ignore the haters and move on with your life. Who cares if you’re weird? Everyone is weird!

There will come a time in your life when you need to accept that not everyone is going to like you. You won’t always be everyone’s cup of tea, but you’ll for sure be someone’s shot of whiskey. Just remember that it’s okay to not fit in or to be a part of the “in” crowd. You’re allowed to simply be yourself and to enjoy being yourself without worrying about what anyone else has to say.

It takes courage to live your truth, unashamed of who you are or how weird you are. There’s nothing wrong with being weird or strange in a world where society will try to tame you to get you to fit into a box that you don’t really want to be in, in the first place. Society shouldn’t tame you down or make you feel like you need to be a “lesser” version of yourself.

Live your life the way that you want to live it; whether or not people view you as strange and unusual is not your problem. Other people’s perceptions and opinions of you have no bearing on your life or how you should feel about your life. So what if you’re weird? Aren’t we all? There is always going to be something strange about you, so why not embrace that to the fullest?

You don’t have to be liked by everyone you meet. Remember that no matter how hard you try, there will always be someone out there who won’t like you. That’s their problem! It has nothing to do with who you are or how you act. Some people are just assholes, and you should do your best to ignore them. Don’t let other people dictate how to live your life. Your life is yours to live, so live it the way that you want!

Let Go of the Past and Embrace Change

Leave the past in the past! You won’t progress in life if you’re dragging old habits around with you. If you keep trying the same thing over and over again, and you’re not getting the results that you want, maybe it’s time to try something new. T hink of it like diet and exercise. Some diets won't work for you, just like some exercises work better for other people than they will for you. It’s all about figuring out what works, rather than doing the same old thing and becoming disappointed every time you don’t get results. In order to move forward in your life, you need to learn to embrace change. Sometimes, you can get so caught up in sticking with the things that you know, that you wind up afraid of venturing out of your comfort zone. It’s easy to stay with what’s familiar, but you have to learn to let go of familiarity and let yourself embrace the new and the unknown. You need to allow yourself to be open to new ideas and new ways of thinking. You're stuck where you are righ...

Don't Allow Your Fears To Control Your Life

Everyone has something that they are afraid of—you, me, everyone! It’s not shameful to have these fears, but you shouldn’t allow them to take precedent over your life. Things only have power over you because you give them that power. If your fears are starting to hold you back from living the life that you want, then you need to rethink how you view those fears and learn to break past them in order to move on. Your limitations are only limitations because you allow them to be. You are capable of so much more than you give yourself credit for, so don’t allow yourself to be brought down by your fears just because you’re worried that you won’t be able to overcome them. You can do anything that you put your mind to, and if that involves overcoming your fears, then you will be able to do just that! When you choose to avoid your fears and not face them, you open yourself up to even more fear, as well as limitations on your abilities. Facing your fears allows you to break free of the restrict...

Fire It Up Friday

Happy Friday! Y'all know what time it is! It's that time of the week where we list the things that we look forward to; it's Fire It Up Friday! There is so much in life to look forward to, so let's help each other out by naming the things that we're excited for. I'll start us off by saying that I'm excited to go to the beach tomorrow. Beach time is always a good time. I'm gonna have ice cream for lunch and hopefully hit plenty of waves! Life gives us so much to hope for; it's hard to see the bad when you're so focused on all of the good things headed your way. There's always something to be excited for, even if it's not your next concert or your next beach day; it can be as simple as waking up tomorrow morning to spend a relaxing day at home or being excited for your next cup of coffee.
