Regret is a Learning Lesson

Regret is useless. It accomplishes nothing of value in your life except making you feel guilty or otherwise bad about yourself or your decisions. Regret will never change the past; the best thing that you can do for your own health and wellbeing is to move forward with the knowledge that you have built from your past experiences. Your past is there to be learned from, not dwelled on with feelings of guilt and sadness.

There are often going to be conflicting or complicated situations that arise in your life that will lead you to feel happy in the moment. It’s later that you realize the situation was only hurting you in the end. You shouldn’t regret those situations or people that made you smile or made you happy, even if they didn’t work out. They’re learning lessons for your future self, so you know better for next time.

It can be easy to look back on your past and feel guilt or even shame for the things that you have done, but I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to. You don’t need to regret the choices that you have made in your life, even if they lead you into distressing situations. Everything happens for a reason, and that reason is usually to teach you a lesson.

If something made you happy at one point, that doesn’t mean that you need to regret the entire experience if it didn’t work out in the end. Your happiness is never something that you should regret. Sure, things might not have turned out the way that you wanted them to, but all that means is that you have something to take away from the experience, and that is, well, experience.

Life is full of experiences, to the point that life itself is an experience, and the experiences that you encounter along the way will help you gain the necessary knowledge to move forward and to change the way that you approach difficult situations. You shouldn’t regret the choices that you made when you didn’t know any better. Now, you do know better, and you can make better decisions this time around. Use the bad and convert it into good!

Let Go of the Past and Embrace Change

Leave the past in the past! You won’t progress in life if you’re dragging old habits around with you. If you keep trying the same thing over and over again, and you’re not getting the results that you want, maybe it’s time to try something new. T hink of it like diet and exercise. Some diets won't work for you, just like some exercises work better for other people than they will for you. It’s all about figuring out what works, rather than doing the same old thing and becoming disappointed every time you don’t get results. In order to move forward in your life, you need to learn to embrace change. Sometimes, you can get so caught up in sticking with the things that you know, that you wind up afraid of venturing out of your comfort zone. It’s easy to stay with what’s familiar, but you have to learn to let go of familiarity and let yourself embrace the new and the unknown. You need to allow yourself to be open to new ideas and new ways of thinking. You're stuck where you are righ...

Don't Allow Your Fears To Control Your Life

Everyone has something that they are afraid of—you, me, everyone! It’s not shameful to have these fears, but you shouldn’t allow them to take precedent over your life. Things only have power over you because you give them that power. If your fears are starting to hold you back from living the life that you want, then you need to rethink how you view those fears and learn to break past them in order to move on. Your limitations are only limitations because you allow them to be. You are capable of so much more than you give yourself credit for, so don’t allow yourself to be brought down by your fears just because you’re worried that you won’t be able to overcome them. You can do anything that you put your mind to, and if that involves overcoming your fears, then you will be able to do just that! When you choose to avoid your fears and not face them, you open yourself up to even more fear, as well as limitations on your abilities. Facing your fears allows you to break free of the restrict...

Fire It Up Friday

Happy Friday! Y'all know what time it is! It's that time of the week where we list the things that we look forward to; it's Fire It Up Friday! There is so much in life to look forward to, so let's help each other out by naming the things that we're excited for. I'll start us off by saying that I'm excited to go to the beach tomorrow. Beach time is always a good time. I'm gonna have ice cream for lunch and hopefully hit plenty of waves!
