Wednesday Wisdom

Happy Wednesday, everyone! We've made it to the middle of the week; we are halfway to the weekend! This week has probably already thrown so much your way, that you might be wondering how you can deal with it all for a few more days. I'm here to remind you that you can handle anything that comes your way, and that no matter what happens, it's your own reaction to the things that happen to you that truly matter.

Everyone is going to have their own way of reacting to situations and stress, but as long as you are able to control yourself and your stress level, you will be able to accomplish anything that crosses your path. I understand that sometimes a bunch of little things get piled up and it can turn into one big thing in the end, but you have to learn to react to everything individually as they come to you.

Don't let a stressor from this morning carry over into your evening, and don't let something from yesterday bother you today. Learn to let everything go once it passes and it's done and over with. You will be better off not carrying around unnecessary weight all of the time.

I don't know about y'all, but I'll be having a nice little break in the middle of my week tonight at the House of Blues to see From Ashes to New, Point North, Ekoh, Phix, and Elijah. We all deserve a little break every now and then, but my goal is to have a life that I don't need a break from. I'm accomplishing that by letting go of any stress I have, because I know that any stress I face today will not matter to me in a year's time. Or even tomorrow, for that matter.

Try to face today with a positive mindset. Let go of the stress and negativity that weighs you down, and move on with your life towards a happier, lighter way of living.

Let Go of the Past and Embrace Change

Leave the past in the past! You won’t progress in life if you’re dragging old habits around with you. If you keep trying the same thing over and over again, and you’re not getting the results that you want, maybe it’s time to try something new. T hink of it like diet and exercise. Some diets won't work for you, just like some exercises work better for other people than they will for you. It’s all about figuring out what works, rather than doing the same old thing and becoming disappointed every time you don’t get results. In order to move forward in your life, you need to learn to embrace change. Sometimes, you can get so caught up in sticking with the things that you know, that you wind up afraid of venturing out of your comfort zone. It’s easy to stay with what’s familiar, but you have to learn to let go of familiarity and let yourself embrace the new and the unknown. You need to allow yourself to be open to new ideas and new ways of thinking. You're stuck where you are righ...

Don't Allow Your Fears To Control Your Life

Everyone has something that they are afraid of—you, me, everyone! It’s not shameful to have these fears, but you shouldn’t allow them to take precedent over your life. Things only have power over you because you give them that power. If your fears are starting to hold you back from living the life that you want, then you need to rethink how you view those fears and learn to break past them in order to move on. Your limitations are only limitations because you allow them to be. You are capable of so much more than you give yourself credit for, so don’t allow yourself to be brought down by your fears just because you’re worried that you won’t be able to overcome them. You can do anything that you put your mind to, and if that involves overcoming your fears, then you will be able to do just that! When you choose to avoid your fears and not face them, you open yourself up to even more fear, as well as limitations on your abilities. Facing your fears allows you to break free of the restrict...

Fire It Up Friday

Happy Friday! Y'all know what time it is! It's that time of the week where we list the things that we look forward to; it's Fire It Up Friday! There is so much in life to look forward to, so let's help each other out by naming the things that we're excited for. I'll start us off by saying that I'm excited to go to the beach tomorrow. Beach time is always a good time. I'm gonna have ice cream for lunch and hopefully hit plenty of waves! Life gives us so much to hope for; it's hard to see the bad when you're so focused on all of the good things headed your way. There's always something to be excited for, even if it's not your next concert or your next beach day; it can be as simple as waking up tomorrow morning to spend a relaxing day at home or being excited for your next cup of coffee. If it makes you happy, it's worth being excited for. Let everyone know what you're looking forward to in the comments. Have a great weekend, everyo...
